Bris or Brit Milah Jewish Ritual Circumcision for your son
Bris or Brit Milah Jewish Ritual Circumcision for your son

When looking for a Mohel, it was very important to us that our Mohel was also a physician.  During our first conversation with Dr. Yosha, we knew that he would be the right person to perfrom not only the Bris Milah of our soon to arrive son, but also the Brit Bat of our 1.5 year old daughter.  We decided to plan these two important ceremonies for the same day.  Before the birth of our son, Dr. Yosha discussed ceremony options for each child and told us we would solidify plans once our son's arrival date came closer.  Our son had alternate plans and came 5 weeks early.  While staying at Highland Hospital in the special care unit, Dr. Yosha graciously came to check on baby boy to determine an appropriate time for the procedure/ceremony.

At our home, surrounded by close family, Dr. Yosha performed our son's Bris Milah and our daughter's Brit Bat, with two beautiful and meaningful ceremonies.  He included special roles in the ceremonies for each member of our family who wanted to be involved and explained each componentent of the ceremonies in an accessible way that was meaningful to both Jews and non-Jews in our family.

Dr. Yosha was amazingly kind and professional, warm and friendly.  He had two beautiful ceremonies organized and ready for us based on our discussions, and yet was still able to roll with the chaos that a newborn and 1.5 year old bring to a ceremony.  Dr. Yosha was truly wonderful to work with and was so supportive through the entire postpartum process, offering support and guidance during a challenging time.  Our son healed quickly and our daughter felt so special during her ceremony.  Many thanks to Dr. Yosha for his kindness, professionalism, and suport.

We are so grateful Dr. Yosha performed the bris for our son. His medical expertise, beautiful ceremony and genuine care for our son made the entire celebration a special moment we will never forget. He led a beautiful ceremony that honored tradition and made all family members feel included and honored. He provided clear instructions and all the materials needed for aftercare and even messaged us later in the day to check in. Our son healed with ease and comfort. We could not have asked for a better day and highly recommend Dr. Yosha for your family and this joyous celebration.

Our family was very pleased with Dr. Yosha's Bris Milah service for our baby boy born during October of 2020.  Dr. Yosha provided a safe and joyous Bris Milah.  He worked collaboratively with our Rabbi to create the service we hoped for.  He made us feel comfortable and informed on the process.  His professional and personable manor made us feel confident about the after-care process as his instructions are very thorough.  He was available day/night during the healing process for any questions.  We whole heartedly recommend him for your bris.

Dr. Yosha performed our son's bris with technical skill and a clear passion for his work.  He made the ceremony meaningful and accessible to all of us, including the non-Jews.  He was gentle and caring with little Elias.  As a doctor myself who performs circumcisions, it was especially meaningful that he suggested that I do the actual cutting, completing a true mitzvah.  We cannot say enough how pleased we were with the whole experience.  We highly recommend Dr. Yosha to friends and colleagues.

We wanted to thank Dr. Yosha for doing such a wonderful job as mohel for our son's bris.  Having a mohel that was also an MD was important to us, and Dr. Yosha exceeded our expectations.  He did a wonderful job with the ceremony and prayers, involving the Rabbi and guests and making everyone feel part of the celebration.  We especially appreciated the care he took with our son, minimizing the pain he felt and ensuring that the healing was fast and the care was easy.

We wanted to take a moment to thank you for leading our son Nir's bris.  The guests in attendance, most of whom are veteran bris attendees, spoke highly of you following the ceremony.  As for our son Nir, he healed perfectly.  I especially wanted to thank you for your pre-ceremony conversations with me and my wife.  As a Chinese-American, my wife had never attended a bris.  You put her at ease when you took the time to answer any and all questions she had regarding the ceremony and healing process.  Additionally, we wanted to thank you for the post-bris care package you provided.  With all the family in town it was such a relief not having to worry about purchasing the correct ointments and gauze pads.  Again, thank you for being an integral part in the arrival of our son.  If we should be blessed with another son, we will definitely call upon you again.

Dr. Assaf Yosha was the best choice for our son Isaac's mohel.  He was extremely gentle, fast, and precise, and made a point of keeping Isaac comfortable during the whole event.  He arrived early, despite the long drive, and was very warm and loving when dealing with Isaac.  He also was a great organizer to such a degree that our friendly and amazing rabbi felt delighted letting Dr. Yosha run the event.  I had no idea that mohels also made everybody else comfortable too!  At some point after everything was done, Issac started crying, and Dr. Yosha picked him up and sang to him very softly an Israeli lullaby I had not heard in years since I learned it in Hebrew school in Argentina.  Isaac healed really fast with the cream and care he suggested.  We highly recommend him.  He is a total mensch and his handiwork is impeccable!  We are a gay couple who adopted a son, and Dr. Yosha was extremely understanding and great to deal with.   While some other folks in the community could have felt a bit awkward or strange, he dealt with everything with kindness, ease, and comfort.

We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude to you for performing our son's bris yesterday.  Not only were we able to properly fulfill the mitzvah, but this opened many other doors in our family.  It also made it easier for our extended family to finally loosen up and talk with us about our beliefs and why they are so important.  I'm glad they decided to stay and be a part of this.  Steven is doing excellent.  He did sleep like a rock from the time you left until many hours later...    Shalom!

We wanted to thank you for making Gabriel's bris such a special and memorable event for our family and friends.  You created a unique atmosphere that was felt by everybody in the room - it was the perfect mix of tradition and religion.  Our family members were honored that they could participate in the actual ceremony.  Our friends were touched and talked about it for many days following.  Not to mention, Gabriel is doing very well!
